The Iranian forces set up in an armored column along the main highway through the center of town. Their objective is to sieze the main buildings in the three dominant urban blocks. First up is the Shah-era olympic hotel. Next there is the residence of a local government official in which there is suspected to be important intelligence. Finally there is the sharwarma shop on the edge of town because fuck you sharwarma is delicious.

Brits deploy with as much field of vision as possible.

An IRGC infantry unit moves into the top of a group of shops overlooking the advance

Armor begins moving forward and immediately all hell breaks lose. The British section in the Olympic opens up at the advancing T-72 who immediately breaks as the result of sheer panic/poor knockoff Iranian engineering. Redirecting their ire England's finest send a rocket the way of the nearest T-55 who manages to get a shot off, but is still reduce it to smoldering ash. Unfortunately for them several tank barrels swivel around and immediately atomize all four troopers.

As the remaining two T-55s sneak forward a Javelin arcs out from across the junction aimed squarely at the overwatching T-72. Miraculously the missile only manages to rattle the optics of the tank, leading to ineffective counterfire, but little else. At the same time attempts by the JTAC to call in air support bear little fruit and the armored advance rumbles on.

A sneaky BMP rounds the corner on the waiting scimitar and reduces it to a burning wreck before its able to react. The first block is now well and truly clear.

Things begin to turn very ugly for the Brits. Another attempt by the JTAC to call in CAS only results in the distracted pilot being ramrodded with an errant surface-to-air missile that sends the multi-million dollar aircraft dovetailing into the Persian desert. As the Javelin teams attempt to bring their weapons to bare they quickly find multiple large-caliber cannons anticipating their actions with deadly effect. The sniper team attempts to engage the dug in infantry squad overlooking the shops only to find that seven barrels count more than two. The remaining infantry section begins to take a dramatic pounding from a vengeful T-55, but stubbornly hold on. All looks lost.....until

Help arrives in the form of the form of reinforcements: a Warrior with full cargo and a Challenger emerge from the dust in an attempt to salvage the grim situation.

The Iranians have not been idle, however, and mechanized infantry begins to cross the highway towards the second block.

Gritting their teeth, the remaining Brit section sends another AT4 downrange and knocks out the lead BMP. Although initially they inflict 3 casualties on the IRGC troops, a medic check reveals only light wounds.

The Challenger rumbles forward into a hull down position and finds itself to be in the zone (all rolls are now made on a D10). With this new found confidence in play it lays a round at a BMP opposite. The fire between both vehicles produces no result and they are left facing one another stunned at their mutual ineffectiveness.

The reinforcing Warrior dumps its squad out in the one remaining bloc under British control. Iranian infantry climb the hotel opposite the Brits and begin laying down concentrated fire at the exposed soldiers. BMPs pause and unload a number of ATGM and auto canon rounds; demolishing buildings and scattering the defenders. A random burst of machinegun fire tears the ATGM off a BMP and spooks the crew enough to bail out (lolwut). As the Challenger readies its gun again, a T-55 moves up behind it and somehow manages to cause the 5th generation NATO tank to explode violently.

In one final act of defiance another AT streaks out and detonates the mobile T-72. In response and RPG strikes the top armor of the Warrior and the vehicle erupts in a fireball. The game ends with almost every vehicle disabled or abandoned, but with the Iranians in clear control of the battlefield with the remaining T-55 facing no credible opposition and three active squads.
