Tyranid Doomasaurus

I've always had a bit of a think for Nids, every since I was a wee tyke. Recently having delved back into the 40ks out of purely modeling interest I thought I'd take a look at the range as it stood today and wow, things sure have changed back from the era of Zoats.

Anyway, I picked up a Dimachereon(sp?)  and thought I'd have a crack at it. Its been a while since I painted something organic, but I decided to go with a light colored scheme reflective of arid conditions. For this I used Italeri khaki yellow and highlighted liberally, before weathering as I would a tank and painting the more exposed fleshy bits in hues of pinky and red. The base was also fun, as it allowed me to further inject some colors in the form of blue desert flowers.

Also forgot to mention how huge this model is. Here he is next to an unfortunate Elhiem Iranian trooper.

    2. That's why you need all of that radioactive material. Helps to make more Kaiju to fight against the Reptilians from Hallow Earth. :D
