SA-13: Fly the unfriendly skies

Probably my last post for this month - about to embark on a massive interstate move to a much, much better jerb. So, for now, enjoy some anti-aircraft goodness in the SA-13 'Gopher.'

  1. Beautiful brushwork! Fantastic weathering on such a small scale vehicle. What did you use?

Congratulations and good luck in your new jerb.

  2. Thanks! It's the culmination of the last decade's study/teaching/publishing so it feels like quite the relief.

In terms of the techniques, there's a lot. I really should post a tutorial on how to paint soviet green vehicles, as it's surprisingly convoluted for a monotone scheme. Perhaps once I've settled in:)

  3. Fabulous work on them again. You really should do a tutorial one day. Good luck in your new job.

  4. The title of your post immediately made me think of a tee-shirt owned by my brother in law - back in the Sixties United (? - I think it was United) Airlines had a TV advert with the tagline 'Fly the friendly skies - fly United' and the closing shot of the ad was a 707 banking away from the camera. Tim's tee-shirt had some Phantoms peeling away and the slogan "Fly the friendly skies - fly Vietnam".

    The models look great.
